To bring the much-needed change, National Service Scheme (NSS) with the Motto, “NOT ME, BUT YOU” play a vital role. This scheme upholds selfless service and consideration for fellow human beings as well as underlines the message that welfare of an individual ultimately depends on the welfare of the society as a whole. One of the main objectives of NSS is to develop the personality of the students through community service. NSS provides students a platform to widen awareness and to develop skill to exercise democratic leadership and knowledge about the social realities by engaging them in creative and constructive social work.

It was in 2015, the ACI-NSS was officially registered under Manipur University and functioning as Self- Financing Unit from 2015-2017 under the Programme Officer NG Mary Saza. In 2017, ACI-NSS was officially recognised and have been now functioning as a finance Unit. Currently the College have Two(2) Units for the Undergrade Students. The students have been responding to this Scheme positively. Students’ Volunteers have participated at various programmes and Camps conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) GoI, like National Integration Camp, Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp, Republic Day Parade Camp, Youth Parliament, North East NSS Festivals, etc. the Volunteers continued to participate in the Skill and Leadership Training Programme conducted every year by various colleges.

Besides, NSS also orgainzes awareness programme for students on social health, environment and other issues. One good example is the recent awareness programme conduct on Drug Abuse to School Children at Don Bosco Higher Secondary, Punanmei.

The Year 2020 had been affected greatly by the Covide-19 Pandemic. During this difficult time and bleak moment, the NSS Volunteers have worked extra mile to serve the most needed people in distributing essential food grains like rice, dal, egg, salt, sugar, etc. the painful experiences of the pandemic had taught enormously to everyone. The little act of kindness makes a big difference to others. The true meaning of NSS motto: “NOT ME, BUT YOU” had been learned and realised. Various awareness programmes on Covid-19 were also carried out along with the distribution of Masks at nearby village and to School Children.
